General Manager at Barkefellers Indy Northeast
Where did you grow up?
I spent most of my childhood in Columbia, South Carolina before moving to Indianapolis with my family.
Where did you go to school?
I graduated from North Central High School, class of 2015!
What’s your favorite thing about working with dogs?
My favorite thing about working with dogs is interacting with so many different types. The dogs and their parents educate me on breeds that I may not be familiar with, and I love being able to experience all the personalities and quirks of breeds I haven’t owned myself.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being able to recognize the pups that come in, and watching how excited they get to see their friends (canine and human)!
How many years of experience do you have working with dogs (and how many of those are at Barkefellers)?
This will be my 7th year at Barkefellers, and before this my dog experience was mostly from caring for my own fur babies.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am so excited to watch my kids grow! I have a son who’s a toddler and we just welcomed a baby girl in January, so I’m expecting my house will be a circus for many years to come.
Do you have any pets of your own?
Right now I have 3 cats and a Russian Tortoise. I’ll be getting the kids a puppy when they’ll be able to “help” take care of them.
What hobbies do you have outside of work?
Outside of work I’m usually doing something artistic like painting or crocheting, I also love watching movies, and of course keeping up with the kiddos.
What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
I have been wanting to go skydiving for years! I need a buddy to do it with me though; my husband said he’ll be waiting on the ground, but won’t actually do the jump.
What do you listen to while in your car?
Right now “Wheels on the Bus” is a fan favorite during car rides, but when I’m alone I listen to hip hop, R&B, and some rock. I like a variety of genres!
