Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Noblesville, IN

Where did you go to school?

I graduated from Noblesville High School in 2016. After that I attended IvyTech for 2 years where I studied creative writing.

What’s your favorite thing about working with dogs?

My favorite part about working with my training dogs is knowing that they make mistakes, they’re not perfect, and they are still lovable. They forgive themselves and don’t let it stop them from getting back up and trying again. Dogs can teach us how worthy we are just by being worthy themselves.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Working with animals takes a lot of compassion and initiative, but the compassion and the initiative the staff and owners have doesn’t end with our four legged friends. I love being a part of that.

If you ever want to see more reasons I love my job look in my training room! I have written 50 reasons why I love my job on my whiteboard.

How many years of experience do you have working with dogs (and how many of those are at Barkefellers)?

I’ve worked at Barkefellers since October 2019, but I grew up wanting to work with dogs. My dad has been lifelong friends with the owners of InvisibleFence. He worked with the company for a few years and met my mom on a company trip. Growing up I watched my dad train every family dog we have had. All I did as a kid was study different dog breeds and when I got good grades, I was rewarded with going to the humane society. Every part of my life always circled back to working with dogs, so it only made sense to become a trainer!

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I’m excited to go to pride this month. I also have an old friend visiting from Seattle this summer and I’ve been looking forward to seeing them again!

Do you have any pets of your own?

I have a yellow lab named Sullivan but we all call him Bunny because he is always bouncing around, he will be turning two in August.

What hobbies do you have outside of work?

I love writing fictional stories, poems, and scripts. I enjoy watching lost media tapes. I spend a lot of my time analyzing films and studying the historical people who change the way different genres are executed.

What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?

I start a ton of cool projects but I slowly cycle through them instead of doing one at a time. I have many cool product ideas and stories I want to write. I would love to see a physical prototype for an idea or a finished story in the future.

What do you listen to while in your car?

I will listen to Classical music, The Mamas and The Papas, Dion and the Belmonts, and Patsy Cline one moment and then Miracle Musical, Doja Cat, and The Growlers, the next. I shuffle my liked playlist on Spotify and hope at least one genre of music will give me inspiration.
