Where did you grow up?
Indiana my whole life, lived in Southport for my childhood, then moved to greenwood for the rest!
Where did you go to school?
I went to Perry for middle school and under but graduated from Greenwood Community High School.
What’s your favorite thing about working with dogs?
That I get to see them and play with them 24/7, it’s like therapy in a job form!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
All of it, from the dogs to my co-workers to the customer interactions. I love my job, and I’m always excited to work!
How many years of experience do you have working with dogs (and how many of those are at Barkefellers)?
I never worked anywhere before Barkefellers that had to do with dogs, but ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been obsessed with animals and taking care of others’ pets and even my own. I’m glad I found a job where I get to treat other people’s pets like my own. I’ve been working with Barkefellers for about 9 months!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
All the events, the new dogs that will come, and the busy times like spring and fall breaks! It does get pretty busy, but then again, I’m in a building with so many dogs, and I couldn’t be happier.
Do you have any pets of your own?
Yes! I have 4 cats; technically, 3 of them are my family’s pets, but one named Willow is my pride and joy. She’s 2 years old and my everything. I’m definitely a cat person, and I spoil her like no other! She’s my best friend.
What hobbies do you have outside of work?
I enjoy painting and drawing. It brings me a lot of joy. And as I paint, I love putting on music; just something about mixing my favorite music with painting is better than anything. Or even if I turn on a YouTube video as I paint!
What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
To get my own dog! Growing up, I was never allowed to get a dog, which is why I love working at Barkefellers; I get to see all of these dogs and treat them with love as if they were mine, but one day, I want to get my own Huskey. I’ve wanted one since I was like 5!
What do you listen to while in your car?
I like a lot of music in the indie genre. But some of my favorite artists are Joji, Mac Demarco, Billie Eilish, Twenty-One Pilots, and Panic! at the Disco.
